Most people agree with the general concept that more work can be accomplished by a team than by an individual working alone. Effective legal administrator must delegate, and delegate well. This presentation will enhance the skills of legal administrators in the art and management of delegation.

1. Fundamentals of effective delegation and the keys to knowing when, how and why to delegate a task or responsibility.

2. Strategies to overcome the syndrome of “delegation reluctance”

3. How to identify and modify typical unproductive delegation behaviors

4. How to deal with reluctance and resistance by others to have activities delegated to them

5. Understanding the philosophy of delegation and its relationship to leadership

Herb Rubenstein is the author of the American Bar Association book, Leadership for  Lawyers.  His courses on leadership and professionalism have been certified for CLE credit in 15 states.  He was the managing partner of his law firm for 23 years in Washington, DC.  He is an active member of the bar in DC and MD.  He gives seminars on e-court, negotiation, leadership, delegation, social media, and the future of the legal profession. He is graduate of Georgetown Law School and ACLEA member.
